Styling your session is *extremely* important when it comes to the look of your images. Once you have chosen whether you would like a studio or location session please email me for some ideas about styling your session to keep it unique to you and your children.
NEWBORN BABIES
(0-4 weeks)
- I have neutral swaddling materials, but bring anything you might like to use
- I also have nappy pant covers to hide cloth or disposable nappies
- Think about styling your baby session with sweet hats and bonnets like those available from Etsy
- All newborn sessions are photographed in my natural light studio in Subiaco
- Babies are generally sleepier after a good feed, so time it this way if you can. I know how stressful photo shoots can sometimes be and I am a mum myself so please be relaxed. I am not too structured with times when it comes to photographing kids and I give you plenty of time to change nappies / feed and comfort you bub whenever you need to.
- (Please note pram access is not available – I can help you if you call ahead)
BABIES + KIDS
(any age)
- Colour is fabulous. Bright, contrasting colours work really well in photographs
- For kids, be inspired by ‘Pumpkin Patch’ catalogues. Bright, fun, contrasting and lots of accessories like hats, boots, scarves, gloves, bright stockings, etc
- If you would rather go for a barefoot organic feel, this can look wonderful too
- No logos if possible. These really, really distract from your face and I hate giving companies free advertising. If there was one rule it would have to be NO LOGO
FAMILIES
• For grown ups — no matching clothes. You don’t walk around dressed the same in real life, and the jeans-white-shirts look has been done a million times. Think complimentary colours (different shades of similar colours) and don’t be afraid to glam it up and wear a suit and cocktail dress. Really adds a fun look to your images.
MATERNITY
(34-36 weeks)
• Pregnancy images – draped material works well to emphasise your curves. Think soft flowing fabric, boob tubes and neutral underwear.
